HIS4850+Vista64Bit - Screen flicker/blackout

Hi Guys,

Having some problems here with my new pc that I hope someone can help with!

Abit IP43
4Gb corsair
HIS 4850
OCZ500w PSU

Whenever I run a game, of any sort, I get screen flicker (As in the screen goes black totally for a very very short moment) and also sometimes the screen just dies and goes black for 2-3seconds, then recovers.

I've tried a few versions of drivers from various places, but none have made any difference at all. Everything else is as upto date driver wise as I can find and currently nothing is changed in the bios, so its running at stock.

Any ideas or pointers?

Just to add, the screen bounces sometimes too - almost like its losing vsync?

Just to check the obvious, its correctly seated in the slot and your psu cables are good...

Have you tried the latest drivers for it? 8.12 is working fine for me...

waaaa found it

Me being a bit silly didnt notice that my psu had a PCIE connector so i had used the adapter onto a pair of molex's. Popped the PCIE connector in instead and its just fine now so I can only assume it was a lack of power somewhere? Either way its sorted, and I can now start regrowing the hair i pulled out
