I'm in the process of changing my lounge round and decluttering at the request of my wife!

So out goes my 5.1 sound system, consoles and HTPC and incomes a Yamaha YSP-2500 (see my other thread) to join a TiVo box under my current 50" LG Plasma 50PZ250T.

While looking at Soundbars etc. I couldn't help but notice our relatively cheap 4K TV's are and the Hisense gets good reviews and looks amazing for around £550 but while I'm not a brand snob "Hisense" sounds like a budget supermarket brand!

What are people's thoughts? I can't really go above £600 as we've not budgeted for a new TV at all but would love to have something newer with better features etc. Is there anything else I should look at for sub £600?

One last thing, I'm assuming the "Smart TV" is just a built in android box and I can install stuff like kodi etc. If so how do I find out the chipset, ram and storage info?

3rd largest TV manufacturer globally, just emerging into the UK market.

I think I can just use HDMI ARC in to Soundbar or even plug TiVo in to Soundbar then Soundbar in to TV, I'm sure there's a way round it!

Rang Richersounds, they don't have any stock anywhere and are waiting on manufacturer. They did have 1 YSP-2500 in stock but going to wait and buy them both together.

I think there are new models launching soon. They are big in Asia and breaking into Europe. We usually see new models every year around March-May time however they may not conform to what all the other manufacturers do.

As for the brand and the quality of their tv's. I imagine the average person wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They do have some cheap sets and they do have expensive sets too. Their high end sets with FALD have gotten rave reviews.

Basically they are really good in terms of value for money and value for quality. They aren't the best by all means you can get better tv's however you need to spend considerably more to do so.

Basically these guys are like Hyundai or Kia. You get a half decent tv for stupidly cheap compared to the big boys. Their sets can do with a bit of tweaking, you can copy settings off avforums and see if any of them suit your eyes.

have you tried ao.com? cheap retailer and their delivery guys who delivered my stuff were the best I've seen or had the pleasure of meeting. Even better than DPD who was my favourite until I met these guys.

They aren't anything like the cheap supermarket brands like techwood, polaroid, etc, they are a quality outfit. In 10 years time I wouldn't be surprised if they have killed a lot of these other outfits off.
