IMO go to Ford to get an estimate put together. Send the guy a copy of the estimate via email or break it down over the phone. If he's happy with that get him to phone the garage and pay for the order/estimate. If he faffs remind him of the fact he fled the scene .

If he didnt stop i say he deserves to be done through insurance for trying to get away with it

Did pop into Ford this afternoon, but they are closed until next week, so will have to wait a bit before I can get a quote.
