My friend and I are planning to go to the USA in December. We've got about 2 weeks from the beginning of dec and want to do a sort of mini tour. Maybe land in Vegas, spend a couple of nights there, drive to Arizona (he has friends there) then to california then back to Vegas. Is this do-able in two weeks?

Also, on the issue of car hire, we really want to hire a mustang convertible, not the usual convertible Sebrings etc you see. Whats the weather going to be like in dec and can anyone recommend a car hire company that will let us hire a mustang? We are both 25. Cheers :)

Be aware that California has different laws for car hires than the rest of the states, i believe you need to have more comprehensive insurance cover for third party claims.

Basically take the quote of the actual car, and then double it for the full insurance package. If you get into an accident in the states without full insurance then you're taking a big risk.

Are there any car hire websites that will include everything in the price?

If you do get full collision waiver damage, check the excess. IIRC mine was $500 for a Ford SUV from Alamo. They'll charge you for EVERYTHING even a puncture!

The problem with the big rental companies is that they won't guarantee you'll get the car you want. They all say "Ford Mustang or similar"

From Google - http://www.dreamcarrentals.com/rates.php - Fancy a Gallardo Spider instead?

Cheers for that. The Mustang is quite cheap from there. Hertz will cost around £250 for 2 weeks for each of us. I looked at the corvette too but that has limited mileage and was about £750 for each of us.
