My best mate and I have been renting this pad now for over a year, and stupidly have never taken out home contents insurance.

Having just brought a nice new LCD for the lounge, i'm now a little bit nervous that we still haven't take any out.

So what can you recommend for 2 full time working 20 somethings, obviously the house is already covered for home insurance by the landlord, but our contents are not.

Thanks

I'm with Barclays for £30,000 contents cover and costs £8 a month.

Other companies will offer similar and probably better prices but when I made a claim it was effortless and wouldn't use anyone else.

Saxon insurance, £55 a year, but that includes my lapton anywhere in *** country. Bit cheaper without. Have always been helpful and swift with updating policies/emailing them etc, hence have been with them for 4 years running now.

Co-op insurance are great.

But for cheapness try confused.com. I just manage to get my car insurance down from £670 to £360 using them :D

I used Endsleigh but with a Student discount:

£6k contents, £1500 worth of photography equipment, £250 Guitar, Computer and HI-FI stuff additional to the £6k and it worked out about £200 for the year; that was in 6 bedroom place in Bournemouth.

Hiscox have hassle-free, very comprehensive cover. Not the cheapest, but I have £42,000 coverage for all of my (and girlfriend's) posessions worldwide for £200/year, including accidental damage
