There has been talk from Scotland, Wales and NI about resurrecting the home internationals. I think this would be a really good idea - would be meaningful games instead of carpy friendlies against foreign nobodies.
I'd love to give Engerland a good spanking every year. It'd be good to shut the Engerlish press up.

there are already too many games played each year, these would end up being irrelevant games with 2nd and 3rd string players being used.

BAN all internationals i say. Every two years I look forward to a good quality tournament and get disapointed. Then in between the games played are usually the worst showcases of football ever.

I would much rather see an extra club cup added which only involved the top four from the previous season for example. Anything but more internationals.

And having to put up with all the other countries bitterness and constant whining, no thanks, I'd rather leave things as they are.

I know. The English are terrible aren't they? :p

England is a lot bigger a country as the rest of the UK and should expect to win. If Scotland beat England then we would be drunk for a week. :o

hmmmm

on that thought, USA or Russia should win the world cup...
If we beat scotland it would mean nothing, i dont see why it would mean so much to the scots to beat england.

Pure unadulterated hatred mate, simple as that.

Not quite as simple as that. In fact quite wrong. The joy at any scottish victory over england is mainly down the attitude of england put forward by the broadcast media. Thats how simple it is. All this 'England Expects' crap, quite annoying that at every major tournament we have a month to six weeks of chest thumping nationalism.

Ive no problem with england at all, quite happy for them to do well ( just wish they werent so dull to watch ).

If you find it so distasteful why dont you get your Scottish media companies to stop broadcasting and publishing English stuff? We dont have this problem in England. Down here The Sun doesnt report about Scottish games because no one gives a rats arse. ;)

Thought the bbc was a national broadcasting corporation, no? The print media has more of a divide. The Daily Record and The Scottish Sun are full of guff about how funny it is when England lose etc. Cant understand for the life of me why we all cant wish each other well, in my experience the bad attitude and ill feeling swings both ways in a lot of cases.

OK let's get all the Scottish media companies like STV, the Daily Record, erm.....hmmmm...the BBC1? Nope, British....Radio5Live?...same problem. Hmmmm. Looks like we're just stuck wirth Engerlish arrogancde followed by massive joy when you get thumped by Portugal to shut y'all up. Esp that wee gimp from the money show at lunchtime and Match of the Day2 and the tube off they think it's all over. Man I hate those two.

Can't see the new heavily-in-debt Wembley being able to host an England-Scotland game as they'd have to budget to replace the goalposts and half the pitch :)

you lot want your own government, your own laws, why not get your own tv channels and then you dont need to see england doing better than scotland.

I am English and I hate the "England Expects" as well. I agree that the media does build us up far too much at the begining of every tournament, and then the press are the first to shoot us down when it goes pear-shape.

Yes there is a BBC Scotland. The vast majority of stuff is UK wide though. So we still have to put up with carp like the Ashes. A competition that allows only 2 countries to enter is no competition to me, and I don't want to hear about it thank you very much.

On another point, we don't just WANT our own laws...we HAVE our own laws. Might be a shock to you.
We also have our own education system.

LIVE: Bangladesh v Scotland
Bangladesh 278-6 (50.0 overs)
Scotland 132 all out (41.3 overs)

no wonder you are not interested in cricket :p

do you think the 6 nations is fair? it only allows 6 of the european clubs to enter, surely thats unfair like the ashes?

I didn't say it was unfair. Please tell me where I said this.
After Engerland won the ashes 18 months ago you became the best cricketing nation in the world according to your press. But considering that only 2 countries could enter it is difficult to support this conclusion.
