Evening all,

Is anyone using the above? I have been looking at the doorbell to cover the front of my property and maybe the floodlight cam to cover the back.

I use Google home hubs throughout the house and I believe their products integrate fine with these. I am concerned about reviews which state big delays for example from someone pressing the doorbell and it showing on the home hub?

Also interested if anyone is using their alarm product etc?

Would you advise to look at anything other products away from Eufy instead? Ideally I would like to not have a monthly sub, otherwise I think I would probably go for a Nest Hello and an Outdoor IQ.

Id love to hear what you guys are using, why you went for them and your general thoughts. Thanks

If you want proper alarm equipment then Ajax is currently where it’s at. Only the central hub is mains powered, everything else is 3-5 years on batteries. It’s not cheap, but you save a huge amount by not having to pay for cabling it up.

I have a eufy doorbell and camera on the front. Will be adding more cameras.

The delay to the hub is fine but I have mine integrated with Amazon so all my downstairs echo products ring too. These are relayed a bit. The quality is fine and installation is easy. The batteries are lasting well and have been up about 4 weeks with no change to battery status.

I don’t use google integration but can’t imagine it will be a problem. The actual Eufy app is fine too and tells me when people are spotted and as I live at the end of a long dead end it’s useful.

i looked at the floodlight camera but it needs hardwiring so I am just going to put up a separate light and use the standard cameras. The flood light camera also doesn’t record to the hub as it had its own memory.

picked mine up in Black Friday and glad I did as the cameras have jumped back up. Wish I had bought 2 at the time.

Somewhere in the middle.
I have the Eufy doorbell and although initial setup was really bad (failed to sync / connect countless times), once it did it has been great since.

The quality of the image and the delay time have impressed me.

I picked up the camera and hub last month. Installation was a breeze and the batteries are still 100%. The cameras do have alarms that can be fairly loud and as you know there is a delay - a bit annoying at first but it's only a second or two (but noticeable). We've also got a Google Home set-up but I've not yet set it up with the cameras though.

The only issue I've had is getting the cameras set up with my Synology but it's been working fine for the past two weeks.

How much does it cost to install?

If I do it or you do it?

Literally, if you can peel off a self-adhesive strip cover you can install it.

It is a central data controller, which is plugged into your network (your home router usually) and the mains. Everything else can be mounted using double sided tape or permanently mounted using screws into the wall. Everything is fully wireless with the batteries in each unit lasting 3-7 years.

I would cost 1 hour labour in a quote to install a house system which is front and rear door open/close and two PIR sensors and 15 minutes of that would be setting up your phone to receive the alerts. It is staggeringly easy to install it.

I thought this was a specialist system that could only be supplied and fitted by authorised sellers only. How much is the Ajax alarm package?

I have a Eufy battery doorbell and Eufy mains power floodlight - both replaced their Ring equivalent. I like that both have local storage - I can live view both or view storage without any meaninful delay.

Ring got increasingly unreliable and I lost any desire to pay for the privilege of recording events.

How have you found there servers? Apparently they go down a lot rendering the system useless.

If i want to move over to Ajax from my existing Galaxy G2, will i need to replace all components or could i make use of the existing wired bell and wireless sensors?

The wireless sensors won’t work because Ajax uses Jeweller for communications but you can probably add your doorbell into the app. It depends which doorbell it is.

Its a Pyronix Delta bellbox

My existing G2 panel is temperamental...doesn't charge the backup battery and is heavy on batteries for the wireless sensors....sometimes they last only months and then cause an alert when they die.

So looking to change panel. Was looking at texecom purely due to it seeming to have the best app out of the main players...but i like the look of the ajax,

Would you not be better to go with ProControl for everything? If you're already in that camp it would seem sensible to stay there. After all, it's really good kit. The benefits of Ajax are price and ease of installation. You'd waste money swapping to Ajax and the ProControl gear is as easy to install as Ajax, just more money.

I've not looked into the procontrol stuff yet.

But yes, potentially i need to swap half the system out anyway as it may be goosed. (panel and pir's). So there will be an element of cost involved, but i'm wanting reliability over cost.
New replacement will need to have a decent app capability and possibly hook into cameras (I'm looking at purchasing 2 cams for front / back).

What price for pro control vs ajax?

ProControl is about 30% more expensive than Ajax and hooks into the whole Hikvision app and ecosystem so if you want Hikvision cameras that's the one to go for. If you prefer Dahua cameras (my angle) then Ajax is the better route.

Pyronix app seems a bit flakey for alarm usage based on reviews in ios store...so i will give it a miss

Can you ping me details of best supplier for the AJAX system?

Which dahua cameras do you recommend for soffit fitting in 4 bed detached house?
