Hi wonder if I can pick some brains as not 'super' up on these things.

I have a lovely Panasonic Plasma 37"
PS3
DVD Player
Sky Box
Squeeze Box

All connected into a good 5 year old AV Amp, mostly through optical inputs.

My speakers are 2 floor standing Monitor Audios (from there silver range) and 1 matching Monitor Audio Centre Speaker.

I am thinking of getting shot of the Monitor Audio speakers, mainly due to space.

I was curious to what these 'packages' offer. The ones that come with 5.1 speakers in a box, Dvd player etc.

Is there any good systems out there. I just want to slim down the size to be honest of my big speakers and hopefully at the same time update my AV amp.

Just wondering what was my best option. As not 'up' on what is good out there at the moment.

Hopefully someone here can shed some light.

Thanks,.

I dont have my music/ps3/dvd's on loud really. I would like to keep to soemthing that has 3 optical inputs, or if you can use HDMI instead?

If you are going from MA speakers to an all-in-one-dvd-thing-box then be prepared for the sound quality to be about as fun a Bad Aids.

Downsizing doesn't have to be bad, but the all in one systems are cack. Maybe look at the KEF egg speaker packages and pair them with a better sub from the likes of BK like a small Gemini or xls200.

Should sound pretty good although will obviously be worse than the big MAs.

Oh right, sod it then, I will keep the MA's. Need to get a newer AV Amp though as for some reason lately the centre speaker channel keeps cutting off. Comes back on after a few mins, hear the sound of a relay clicking it off/on.

Oh well I shall keep my MA's, they sound and look great and are still a V good speaker.

Thank you -Ad-

Hehe, space is meant to be filled not created :D:D:D

Maybe your av-amp is just on its way out. Check for any dust first to eliminate overheating. Otherwise I dunno.
