I'm using Olitec Powerlan plugs but the connection keeps dying. It seems to die when I'm downloading something for some reason, it may not be the constant use that knocks it off but it seems like it so far.

The only thing is I have the modem downstairs connected to an extension with the homeplug in the same extesion and upstairs is my pc connected to an extension with the homplug on the extension too, do the extensions make a difference?

When connected it is around 42 mbps as the plugs are 85mbps, does this sound about right?

The connection speed sounds alright.

Have you tried moving the plugs off the extensions and seeing what happens. The only way to really troubleshoot the issue is to try different things.

Yeh I tried everything, it turned out to be my network card for some reason, even after updating the drivers. I connected it to my mobo lan (Don't know why I didn't in the first place ...) and it's running fine.
