Honda Accord 2.0 I-VTEC TYPE-S - Purchased

I've got a 2003 2.4 Type-S and did prefer it to the Mondeo when I made my purchase. I used to have a 2.0 Accord before that but that was an auto and I've personally found that the 2.4 manual for me returns better MPG.

I think spec wise there's little or no diff between the 2.0 and 2.4 and they are great cars to drive and apart from consumables I've not had any problems with mine. The climate control condensor in mine did get a hole and although I've replaced the condensor the climate is still not functioning as before.

I've not found the car cheap to maintain, Honda seem to charge hefty prices for servicing and maintenance but after the warranty expired I take the car to an independent every other year between taking it to Honda.

The 2.0 is perfectly adequate for that car, but if your after more oomph then maybe not. That generation were really good sporty looking cars and IMO the best looking in the sector, even though they didn't really sit in any specific segment. £6k sounds about normal for dealer prices, early models usually start around 3k, I would personally look to pay between £4.5-5.5k. Not long till the next gen Accord is out so I expect these to fall in value...

They look good very good, but i think the Alfa 159 has to take the best looking sport saloon tag, it's looks sublime especially from the front.

I was so dissapointed when i found out there would be no GTA version, there best looking saloon in decades and no GTA version! i would have got one in a shot if they had, i've never owned an Alfa before but heard the bad build/dealer/reliablity stories for the marque. But for a 159 GTA i would have got one regardless

The 159 is gorgeous inside and out, but its from a different era and somewhat different segment. ;)

Really nice car OP, I'm so tempted to upgrade from my 6th gen to the 2.4 Exec at some point. Running costs are a worry, tax must be expensive?

Yeah show us some pics of the inside please :)
