Honda CBR125 or CBF125?

You've managed to make no point at all in that post?

The nephew got a 4 year old RS125 for LESS than a thousand pounds (not £3k for a new 125 so thats............. like a 3rd, and if he drops it, and if he bins it, its a grand...........not 3k)

As for it being an RS, and not an RG or NSR, you find an RS for the same price as a decent DTR, or NSR, you buy it.

I only do 3 miles a day across town, too little for a car, I'm not push biking or walking, a 125 is a valid option for me to commute on.
However, I decided against it as even the X reg ZR750 I bought instead is cheaper to maintain, its economical, cheap to fix if I get knocked off..... and all for the price of a second hand 125.

See?
Simples.

Sorry the last part of my post was based on how I (mis)read it. I thought you were saying that you were looking for a bike for your nephew, decided against a 125 and then proceeded to get him a 125. Good buy tbf.

somewhat of a thread resurrection but I'm in the same quandry! Just sat my CBT on a Honda CBF and I'm trying to decide on my first bike.

Contemplating either a CBR125 or a CB125F. Or maybe one of the Yamaha 125cc models like the MT-125? What's the verdict between the current models of each and is there anything else worth considering? I'm just looking for something to commute to work on and for a bit of fun at the weekend. I don't really plan on doing my DAS anytime soon so want to stick to a 125cc for at least a couple of years as my commute is mostly in town anyway.

Should I go for a urban, sports of off-road model? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated?
