Alrighty, first time on this part of the forum lol...

Just wondered if any one has a CRX? my mate has 1 and he let me have drive of it... im well impressed, its proper zippy for a 1.6!

I have maybe around £3000 to spend (although ill have to pay insurance as well), so im looking to get a CRX... or something of equal power.

Tbh my car knowledge is very limited, I currently have a 1.5TD Corsa and I know basic things to do with maintainence etc... i.e. changing brake pads, alternater belt etc... not long back I had to replace my radiator n cam shaft belt, which I did with my old man lol. So i can carry out work needed to be done. with help of my dad.

Anyone got a CRX, recommend them? How good they reliablity wise? MPG? etc

Thanks!

The only good CRX was the Mk II and they are getting on a bit. They were available from 88 E to 92 K plate. You'll be hard pushed to get a CRX that isn't rusty and trashed now.

My mate is paying £2000 insurance on his, but he has been driving 8 months...
Ive been driving 2 years plus I have done the IAM advanced driving course which knocks off a fair chunk...

and it is the MK2 model im after.

I wouldn't say the Mk2 was the only good one, the Del Sol is nowhere near as bad as people seem to make out, they're nice and sharp to drive when they have fresh/uprated damping with lively engines.

I had a ride in one the other day which had full exhaust and induction and boy did it sound good! :D

I'm after a CRX too but I'm impatient so probably won't wait till I have about 3k spare to get a good one and just get something else.
