Hong Kong ps3 work in the uk?

Am going to hong kong in a few weeks and was thinking of picking up a playstation 3 but want to know if it will work with the games bought in the uk, and if it will be any different in quality than the uk version

i know the ps2 could be chipped but am not sure about the new one

sorry if this is in the wrong section

any help would be great
 
PS3 blu-ray games are not region locked.

But you wont be able to play your PAL (UK) PS2 games on it.

There is no difference in quality but how much money are you really going to save seen as the UK PS3 comes with an extra controller and 2 games as standard now and in some places more than two games and two and a movie or two for £425 and less.
 
so i wouldnt have any problems with the ps3 once i got it to england?

i mean i would get one if they are like £200

im not bothered about playing old ps2 games, also would pal dvd's and blueray work on it?
