HOPEFULLY LESS THAN A YEAR WAIT: New 2018 (MY18) S550.2 Mustang V8 10-speed ordered

That's a 3 year ban............LOL

Why would it be ban? Plenty of places you can go to safely max your car out and with 800HP it does not need a huge amount of distance to get upto such speeds, its doing 130mph in the quarter mile and accelerates insanely fast to around 175mph, only once in 6th it takes a touch longer due to being an over drive gear.

is the track version better for country roads or a normal mustang with different suspension........

Why don't you read up and you will find your answer, because most people would realise a car running 305 michelin cups all round is not gonna be particular great on a country road. Better off with the regular car with the thinner PS4s tyres, ride better and won't be tramlining or falling off the road when it rains.

Big wide cup tyres work great on track, not too great for the road though, most who buy the PP2 car will be using it as a weekend / track car or have another set of wheels for road use fitted with normal rubber.

RTR announces their 2018, very subtle and low cost modifications, but it sure does look good, not so sure about the light up grill though. Mustang_RTR18.jpg

22886066_10155782464789844_3882075410668975983_n.jpg Well MY18 performs very well first one has done some live quarter mile racing and all three runs were under 12.2s with the best run a 12.02@117mph, unfortunately it started raining so they only got three runs with last run being the 12.02, so its got a high 11 in it stock and the car was bone stock and stock Michelin PS4S tyres at 30psi. Car was an A10, with magneride and all the extras.

So its a vast improvement over the 13.1-13.3s@107mph the stock MY15 A6 cars ran.

0-100mph was 8.8s and 0-60 under 4s, so really not bad figures at all for a RWD car.

Can see a simple tune making some nice improvements on those already quick times, seems Ford extracted a lot more performance with the new engine and new gearbox. :)

Seeing that digital dash in action towards end of the video has me excited, it looks amazing, so much fun and those shift lights. This car is just jam packed with really cool stuff, the old one at 35k was amazing value, but I think even if this if its around 45k is still amazing value as your getting so much more for your money this time round and looks like Ford have hugely under rated the engine power. :)

Others get it, you don't Mal X, but I like cool stuff like that, I once owned a Honda Prelude and S2000 which too had pretty cool dashes for their time. Yes classic dashes are timeless, but I like the digital dashes that are coming into modern cars they seem to work very well and the customisation is great as you can customise your car to you and it can also perform several additional functions.

Your traditional mobile to smart phone is a stupid comment. Smart phone is amazing thing, now on business trips I no longer need a laptop, I just use my phone to answer emails, check the webshop, forums etc. On a tradition phone all I could do was call/text, I needed a laptop to enjoy the internet or do my work. Technology improvements are nice. Ford feel the same as that digital dash is standard fitment on all export models, only the US cars get the option of regular dash.

Also one guy made a great comment, I spent a lot of money modifying the MY15 due to its weaknesses and it was still not a hugely fast car, was by no means slow but it was not rapid either. The new car with the right options is a quicker car and an even nicer place to be with lots of cool stuff to entertain the owner with when sitting in a traffic jam. When commuting in the Golf I find it so damn boring its untrue, the only time I can enjoy it is when I can exploit its performance and even then its quite dull as the performance is too accessible too easy. The Mustang is fun when stationary, 30mph or 130mph, no matter what your doing, how fast your going they are so much fun and the MY18 won't need so much spent tweaking.

I've summarised my mods so far as:

- K&N panel filter and stock air box mods: £0 as kept the filter from my last one but otherwise £50
- Tune: Kept all my stuff and I sent a lot of customers to them, so my next tune is free: £0 otherwise £500
- Ford GT 350 lowering springs for magneride: £300
- Wheels: £1500
- Shelby 350 rear wing: £400
- Ford PP2 or Shelby splitter: £400
- Bonnet stripe: £100
- New hood maybe: £1000
- Steeda rear top mounts: £200

So its a lot less, the big expense shall be if I got GT 350 R brakes (£4000), GT 350 rear seat delete (£1000) and exhaust headers (£1500).

But until I have the car I cannot decide, the MY18 performance is higher than expected so most mods will probably be just to modify the aesthetics/looks to my liking and to make it a little more unique.

how long will it be before you're bored of this car too, because i give you less than a year.......finally, you cant really make your Mustang unique can you, because it's a Ford and there are so many of them for sale right now.....it's boring to look at them all.

I like to enjoy cars, its a hobby and I'd have kept the Mustang if they had no made such big improvements, but as such they did, hence the next one and I wanted a good automatic.
Everytime I see a Mustang on the road, which is rare, I get excited. Not many other cars cause this to happen unless its something like a Fezza, Lambo etc.

What is it your driving? Any new fantasy car purchases in the pipeline?

i knew that was coming, it's not the money, i just cant make my mind up........... common sense tells me to go for the WRX STI because of the roads around here........ but the other side of me says go for the 2018 Mustang.

You could not make this up could you, just winged like hell about the digital dash, now considering one, LOL!

i never said i didn't like the car LOL, I just said I wasn't mad keen on the dash...........but i cant have the same car colour as yours can i, so it looks like Yellow or red.

Why on earth not, man no one cares about colour or having same colour as someone else, you just buy the one you want, and not like were ever likely to meet and seriously so what.

I've being to a lot of Mustang meets, not one car ever looks the same because the owners do tweak/mod them in some way, mine was a one of a kind, there was no other UK car running around with the same bodykit / styling and wheels as mine had. :)

One of the funniest things I have read in ages, hahaha. Car will be superb, hopefully will get to see it one day at a meet. How are you handling the wait? I am so impatient and end up reading *everything* about a new car and watching just about everything on youtube relating to it to tide me over!

Doing this essentially and messing with the Golf R I've got as a tie me over until it comes. Finally seen the engine without the nasty cover and just hoping to see more reviews from press and owners over coming weeks in the US. Also really keen to hear if owners can replicate the sub 4s to 60 that Ford claim as thats quite a big shout for a RWD car, though am sure the A10 helps a lot with that.

The plan for mine, same wing, same black roof, same mirrors, wheels I will keep a dark colour but not gloss black and the front either a 350 kit or something different, will decide that once I have the car, but loving it, orange was risky at first, but the more I see, the more I am happy with my choice.

Not a fan of the colour and I normally hate wide arch kits, normally tacky, but Roush have simply nailed it, best looking Mustang I've seen full stop I think. :) 23004840_10155739353564795_3933587329079842564_o.jpg

EU / Export MY18 spotted, seems we got the good deal this time, EU cars are better looking for sure due to the clear front and rear lights. Looks awesome in blue. :)

MY18_Blue.jpg

Nice, that's the colour I've ordered. :D

Was my other option, this colour definetely works best with the factory forged wheels, Did you got A10, magneride hero spec too or gone more for a drivers/fun spec and stuck with manual and passive suspension?

I do like that blue, but then I always do, I always order blue
Had to order my new TT in poverty black, otherwise it would have been... blue!

The blue is more subtle, the orange is more like "yeah look at me!!"
If your driving a car like that people will be looking anyway so why not grab their attention with the colour as well as the noise =)

Hoping for a deal on OCUK at some point, buy this xxxx and get a drive with Gibbo, sales would soar! ;)

Hahahahah, we could go for a 0-60 in the Golf, as can just do it in the car park, its so quiet and so subtle in the way it launches and requires so little room. :D
