Hello all,

I'm staying over in Cambridge late January, can anyone recommend a nice hotel for me and the mrs that's not too expensive?

We also need some ideas for what to do during the daytime, so if you have any good places to check out or where the shops are. Ideally the hotel would be located near or in the city and have car parking for one night.

Any links appreciated.

Cheers,

Anything reasonable to be honest, good value for money :) It's only for one night so don't want to break the bank for no reason.

EDIT: that Devre is far too expensive :p

You're going to have a hard time finding a hotel in the town for less than £100 per night, which I assume is what you want?

The city is fairly big with some scabby places :p

Shops are fairly poor in Cambridge. There's all the university buildings to take a look at, maybe go for a punt.

In terms of central hotels there is the Crowne Plaza and University Arms, then there are the likes of the travelodge a bit further out of town.

Depends how far you want to walk!! It's not too far, perhaps a 20-25 minute walk. There will be buses from there too and the train station is fairly close too.

If you really want to treat her, and spend a fair bit try the Hotel Felix.
