It matters not. Lenders do not keep them anymore as the deeds are now all electronic.
Paper ones are just nice to have as a bit of history of the house really. New houses no longer get issued with paper ones.
If you're allowed, keep you final mortgage payments low so you pay £10 a month to pay off the last £500 so the bank keeps the deeds in thier vault![]()

All stored at the Land Registry electronically. Cost's £4 for a title register. Quite interesting if you want to find out how much the neighbour paid for their house.
Or you could just look for free on one of the many sites which has this information freely available.
