Hi
As some of you know I am 23 and work in IT. My job takes me abroard quite a lot- sometimes for several months at a time. I have been working for my company for exactly 1 year now and have probably spent about 7-8 months of the year working away from home. When I am in the UK I work from home.
I currently live at home with my mum near Bath (Having spent the previous 4 1/2 years living in rented due to uni/ temporary jobs etc). I was at Uni in Sheffield and this is where pretty much all my good freinds live. I regularly go up and visit, but at 200 miles (or about 3 hours) its bit of a pain having to get up there all the time. I don't really have that many freinds at all down here any more (as I was away for so long and most of them have moved on etc) and the ones I do have are nowhere near as good as the ones I have in Sheffield- they're not really my kind of people any more, plus all bar one have settled down with long term girlfreinds, started buying houses etc.
Whenever I am up there we always have excellent nights out and just have a blast in general (Just like uni days
). Anyway he said that one room in his rented house would be available in June as the girl is probably moving in with her best mate and he has asked me if I want to take it. The rent is only £36 per week and I earn very good money for someone of my age, so affordability isn't an issue. If I had a 'normal' job where I went into an office every day etc I would definately take it.
The other issue is that after living away from home for so long I struggle back here because of mums being mums, my younger siblings arguing, not having your mates around 99% of the time, etc etc.
Do you think it is worth the move to Sheffield considering I won't be there for half of the year (and won'tsee them regardless of whether I am living there or not? Its a pretty difficult situation for me.
