How are Santander allowed to take over everything??

Just LOL, do you know why these 'Greedy Spanish Pests' own these 'Great British' banks now?

It's because the 'Great British' banks were the greedy ones a few years ago, leveraging like money was going out of fashion, and may well have collapsed without Santander's investment.

This and the Germany thread are the first two of yours I have seen, but you look like an utter troll.

Lol you make Santander appear awfully charitable there.... Sorry but i'd look at it more as them getting them whilst they were down.

I can confirm that if customers wanted to stay with RBS/Natwest, they can, but they have to make the first move, as the group cannot in any way market or influence this.

So everyone quit whining :p

I don't understand all the hate for Santander, I've used them (at first through Abbey) for the last 2-3 years, Never had any issues, I used to use First Direct, to be fair the account was closed to my mis-management of money. (paid of the debt now) The best thing about First Direct was the ability to get straight through to a human being on the customer support line.

However, I find the online banking with Santander very adequate, So easy to use, yet quite powerful. But I reckon I'm alone on this. Unless hating Santander has become another cool OcUK fad, you know, like smashing pasty (:/) claiming and so on.

But to be fair I've never had to call customer support, and I know it's India based, and they lie about their names apparently! John has a very thick Delhi accent. Providings etc.
