how can i disable video preview in XP?

I've found my system is grinding to a halt recently when opening folders containing video media - I am almost certain this is due to the preview in thumbnail mode.

I seem to remember there was a command line instruction that disables previews. Anybody know what it is?

Start>Run>REGSVR32 /u SHMEDIA.DLL

To turn it off again,
Start>Run>REGSVR32 SHMEDIA.DLL

I think.
