How can my girlfriend legally repel an attacker besides using a rape alarm?

My girlfriend lives in a VERY shady area with a high number of nutters, re-house paedos, and horrible chavs. Where she lives she has to park her car in a dark place and then walk through a dark patch to her house, and today she got out of her car to find a weird man she doesn't recognise just standing there staring at her continually as she got out of the car. She's only 5ft tall and light as a feather, pretty, and i'm getting increasingly worried that she is a prime target for any rapist and could do very little to defend herself physically, she has VERY low strength and isn't keen on martial arts training.

I have just bought her a powerful 130db rape alarm from Ebay but am now stuck for what else I can get her that she can legally use to defend herself. Pepper spray is now highly illegal in the UK so despite that being perfectly suited for what she needs it's a complete no-go for obvious reasons.

Any suggestions?

I say use the pepper spray anyway. Its not as if the rapist is going to go to the police...

only if you have a reason to. ie camping or you need it for a job. Personall protection isn't included.

As for what else you can do, I'm affraid not much. Rape alarm is about it.

Problem is on the off chance she was caught she could get in bad trouble, and if customs intercepted it i'd be in for it and get a visit form the old bill. Not what I want.
