Was thinking this morning about this and how it happens to a lot of people when they reach a certain age.

For me at the ripe old age of 22 I cant comment on mine, but my parents...

My Dad decided that he didnt look odd enough in his Civic Type R so decided to kit it out with a sound system. To be fair to him it does look pretty good an no expense has been spared but on the other hand when you hear Madonna being blasted at you with heavy bass it just seems rather odd.

My mother started ok. She started going to Spanish classes. Then on a whim she sold the house without tell me or my sister (parents are divorced BTW) and moved to Greece only to discover that living on a remote island when you dont know anyone/speak the language isn't as fun as she thought it would be

So come on guys and gals what crazy thing have you/your parents done when they reached that tender age?

Mine bought a Honda Civic Hybrid. :(

Oh my dad also bought a Morris Minor 'Woody' which basically just sat in the garage for a few years.

Apart from that they didn't really have any midlife crisis. I'm going through mine just now.

Sorry, that was my fault. I think we took our brief fling a bit too far you see.

My ones not really funny but anyway

My Dad decided he was bored and started sleeping with my sisters best friends Mum!

No really. Mum just bought herself a convertible.

I don't think my mum ever had one. My dad became exercise obsessed and decided to get in touch with the 2 children he had whilst my parents were 'on a break' about 30 years ago.

That was the first us kids had ever heard of 2 other children, and it nearly broke our entire family apart :/

I had an affair with the 13 years my junior assistant from work............

With hindsight I should have bought the softop convertible, it would have being cheaper.:(

My dad bought a cross trainer and has begun drinking a bottle of wine most nights. He impulse purchased more too for example buying a copy of AVG Complete, he never buys anything online usually

My mum tried spanish classes but missed a few and then soon gave up. Don't know if she has had one.

My dad has had a few now.

He bought a Renault Alpine (well two actually, one got crashed into [NA version]) then another, the turbo.

He also bought a massive Bedford Army truck once too. Sat it on the drive, and occaisionally took it out for a drive to the shops.

He, more recently, bought a 2005 MGTF special edition. Oh, and newish Merc convertible in the same week.

He is bonkers.

My parents didn't express theirs and I've not quite got to mine yet. However I'm at an age where I should probably be looking for ideas. ;)

- Can't be an affair (happy with what I have, thanks).
- Can't be world travel (been there, done that).
- Can't be a flashy car (had one, sold it a couple of years ago).
- Can't be quitting a boring job for one that's more fun (done that already too).

What's left?

My dad bought a full size one of these:

It's 40 years old with under 200 miles on the clock :D

My Mam has become very spiritual, and getting into "crystal healing" and the like more and more.

My Dad is just becoming more and more camp the older he gets. :p
