how do i change the multiplier??

i have a p7n platinum sli, im not sure if its my cpu which is locked or the mobo as i cant change the multiplier level in the bios.

cpu q9550 2.83gz

Are you trying to lower or raise the multiplier, you should be able to lower the multiplier.

trying to raise it for overclocking, it wont change, its on 8.5 at the mo

8.5 is the highest the multi on the q9550 will go.
