How do I publish my site?

Basically what I've done is

Entered my host name, username and password

I've then dragged the folder which I exported called youtube links x into the public_html folder under the filename tab in filezilla

I've tried deleting the Anthony Sharp folders but they just won't budge! They are from previous exports. I HATE this, i've had to compromise production photos and video files and I still can't get this to work...

I just need something up or I'm going to fail this module :( (last ever uni assignment)

in the right hand window in your screen shot, it should only have index.htm and the directories (page1, page1 youtube etc) the directories should then have the files in them
You might be having trouble deleting the Anthony Sharp folder because of the space.

from that picture. I would have copied all the files/directories in the left hand window into the / directory on the right side. the public_html directory you can see on the right is a duplicate of the root location (in the little box that says "Remote site")

And another edit! You might want to put the files up in sections rather than all at once. It gives you a chance to see where you've got to if anything fails to upload.

Hmm still no luck after attempting to follow your instructions.

I think I'm going to wait for Lakeland to get back from work as I'm going mad here.

He has my host and password so he can access my files.

If you read this Lakeland please come on msn! Can also let me know if your delivery has turned up yet :)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I figure it's better than starting a new one!

I've created a website that's pretty simple just for myself to mess about with. I created an account with tso-host yesterday, and that all seems to be working.

I'm just having trouble figuring out where my files should be uploaded to. At the moment I just have everything chucked into public_html. So a Default.aspx, Default.aspx.cs, Photos.aspx, Default.aspx.cs, a CSS file, a MasterPage file etc etc. Is this the right place for it all? Is there a need for sub-directory of public_html for all these files?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm having loads of trouble getting my pages to update. The files that are in the public_html folder aren't what's being displayed on the web pages, but slightly older versions. I've tried clearing my browser cache and stuff, but the pages just aren't updating! It's probably a really amateur mistake!

Thanks,
Sam
