How do i remove windows 7 without removing a folder i want to keep?

Hi, I've just finished installing windows 7 on my new ssd and would now like to remove the old installation from my hard drive, however i have a folder on there with around 1tb worth of stuff i want to keep. How do i wipe everything bar that folder? I tried simply clicking all the other folder and clicking delete, but I apparently dont have sufficient privileges -.- any ideas guys?

cant you just copy that folder to another drive as a backup ?

nah I thought of that but I don't have one big enough :/ atm im thinking partition it and send the folder to the new partition, then format the old one, drag the file back and delete the partion. will this work? and how do i make a partition from within windows?

run disc cleanup and select system files, then tick the box for the old windows files

there isn't an option for that, theres only one for the recycle bin, any other ideas? I'm getting tired, been doing it for hours

Get a backup hard drive, if it's a 1tb folder you can't afford to lose, you should have more than one copy of it!

A hard drive can break at any moment
