Now today I get an email saying that the auction ended early with buy it now and this was the email I received...

Hello Andrew Street,

Compliment, I am Dr Mrs Terisa Daniel from London, England, I am currently leading a church seminar programme in Holland, I like to purchase this item as a gift and send this item to my son schooling in Nigeria.

I want u to kindly ship the item using this courier service EMS speed post or Royal mail first class shipment, go and get the cost of shipping the item to Nigeria and add it together with the cost of item and send it to me so that i can make payment.
I want the item package ready for shipped immediately u receive the paypal confirmation.

I'll make payment through PAYPAL send me ** paypal email id and address so that i can make the payment.
Kindly accept this terms & reply me

Now I've got nothing against Nigerians (except the ones on Ebay), but does this look like some sort of scam? Shall I just resubmit the auction and is there any way I can claim the fees back off Ebay as I stated that I would only ship to UK...

Cheers for any advice,
Andy

I can't believe you actually posted this asking if it was a scam. I almost think this is a joke to take the **** out of people who ask about ebay scammers.

They want it shipped to Nigeria of all places and you think it maybe a scam? I would stay clear!

Cheers for confirming my suspicions...

Do I get my auction money back off Ebay as I will have to resubmit it now?

ive not read all the replies but heres my input... the first alarm bell ringing is 'nigerian' and the second that even though they live in london they dotn want it to be delivered and send it on themselves (err check the item before they send it off...). I think unless you are offering to deliver to europe you might want to send a polite email telling the buyer you will only deliver to them and in the uk so they can inspect the item.

hope it helps, jamie.

edit: infact thinking about it, if you were to gain access to someones paypal you would ask for the item to be forwarded on by the seller else it would end up at the original paypal account holders address... if this is the case then i bet you would be charged back.

make sure you definately have payment in your hand before you ship it.

Payments can be revoked, leaving a nice hole in your Paypal account, which they will do their best to get back from you.

tell them it says delivery to england only and if you want to send it to your son you will have to do it because you're not sending anything to nigeria

Its a scam you shouldn't even need to ask..Mobile phones are the worst thing to put on ebay BIN even if you have the limited bidder blocking features turned on, that ebay offers.

Report to ebay, tell them its a scam, they will ban his account, you will get your fees back, in the mean time re-list it.

Have been trying to figure out how you report it.. The Ebay help pages seem to be fair confusing! Tis a pain, means I have to wait till next Sunday again to relist it! Grr!

Just relist, foot the fees yourself, you will get them back and by the time your account bill comes they will probably have been refunded. Either way you still need to sell the phone whether ebay refunds you or not. www.adtrader.co.uk is usually a good bet for mobiles

You may have to wait 7 days before you can lodge a complaint.

But do it , i'm sick of these time wasting scum.

Good luck.
