Yeah I get that. When I was 20 with 2 years NCD quotes for my Dad's A6 Avant (just a 115PS diesel) were coming in at £3000... Whereas quotes for an R8 V8 were coming in at about £2600 
Though curiously now, quotes for his car come in at £1100 and quotes for the same R8 V8 come in at £1800.
Whereas my T5 Volvo, Corolla T Sport, Celica GT, MX5, etc, all come in at under £1000. I also got a quote for an E46 M3 out of curiosity and Flux quoted £960.
