Im with abbey and im trying to get back my bank charges, the 14 days notice is gone past and another 7 days of grace is gone past too. How do i go about making legal proceedings against them? I dont have a clue but ive heard people says that small-claims court is the way to go.

What are the charges invole and the paper works? Thanks all appreciated.

I didnt, i used a standard format letter - rewritten and stuff added on. I used the one on LBC (london radio station) website and after they wrote me saying they will gwet back to me in 4weeks, even though my letter clearly states that they have 14 days. I sent an email back giving them 7days of grace but they just said the gonna get back to me.....

Consumer Action Group

Take a look here El, this site is designed for helping people take action against their banks.

:D Hiya ElRazur.

You should get in contact with "Trading Standards", they are a free service and will give you the best advice possible. In my experiance you will need to write them another letter if they have no responded with the first saying legal action will be taken. Also, you cannot ask for money or anything, you can suggest it though, demanding stuff will look bad on your behalf if it goes to court or a small claims court. Dont feel angry or put off straight away because takign legal action is a long and stressful procedure, they will reply, or will be made too. Anyway, TRADING STANDARDS! :)

Update: By the way, these people know how far they can push the law before they get told off so be prepared for a battle!

Thanks man.

If the charges are illegal, wont it be right to request for a refund of all those charges then? The format i used, that's what it says anyway. It even cited two court cases to support it arguement. Surely, it wont be bad to request for something that was wrongfully and illegally taken in the first place?

Did you write a letter to the bank that went something like :

Deer Surs,
