On point 1 - compare that to starting a car, using a remote to lock the car etc on a station forecourt.
On point 2 - there are plenty of other sources of energy that will induce a current, and these are present all the time.
The banning of mobiles on petrol station forecourts is just the result of some over cautious half wits. A M&S synthetic jumper poses more of a risk!
