So I’m being hit with disciplinarys for stupid things first one I forgot to put something down in the service sheet. my bad, a bit harsh. A quick word would have cleared up any issues but I’ll own that one

then I was hit with another. Apparently I missed a big chunk missing from a tyre, I know it wasn’t there as I took the wheel off put it on the balancer and checked the whole tyre. The evidence picture was tyre off the wheel and off the car so it could be some random tyre out of the scrap pile.

There’s also a written statement saying he didn’t tell me about another issue because He didt have time as the customer was waiting to collect the car and that he spotted it while he was checking my advisory items.
But he had time to get authorization for repairs and for me to carry out the repairs.

He also lowered a car whilst I was under. I was recording at the time and have him at the controls. Looking at the video there are no clear warnings, no waiting until the ramp was clear and using marks on the wall show the hight of the ramp before and after his finger pressing the button, this is all from under the ramp.
Grievance outcome was that there are two clear warnings and the manager followed correct protocol.
Maybe there was a warning, maybe I didt hear as the engine was running, maybe I was stuck and shouting for my life and no one can hear due to the running engine

the grievance I made during the disciplinary hearing I am now on final warning.

Anyway I can use the above to maneuver out of my next disciplinary?
As the grievance is flawed so could be the disciplinary, but it’s clear that more effort went into the disciplinary then my grievance.

what do you guys think, what are my options?
I been looking for a new job since the ramp incident but then lock down happened and most garages are seeing a drop in business so I need to keep this job until I find a new one

Firstly have they followed correct procedures?

Did they send you invitations to these meetings and advise you before hand what they were for. Secondly did they allow/offer you to invite in another person to sit in the meeting?

If you feel they are looking for anything and everything to use as ammo against you then make sure to keep a detailed log of your works and any further interactions between yourself and them on the side of punishments ect make sure to record those sessions as they have gotten many people out of a pinch in bad times. myself included when a PR woman who hated me stopped a recording at the end of my disciplinary and fully admitted she hated me and was doing everything she could do to get rid of me..... unbeknown to her i was recording the whole thing on my phone. She doesn't have a job anymore as those types of rolls need to be completely unbiased and neutral.

Is this a big or small company you work for? the smaller ones often don't realise that they still need to follow procedures correctly regarding this type of stuff.
Is a medium sized chain with depots in a few city have followed correct procedure up to how they have used the evidence.

I have though about recording the whole day but i can’t find any recording device that can handle a 10hr day. I can get a notepad and write interactions down but manager could argue that I have made it up, which is what I’m saying about his written statement.

I can't quite make it out, but are they saying that you raising a grievance yourself and them deciding it didn't warrant an action they have considered as an actionable disciplinary matter against you?

Because pretty sure that is not acceptable. They're not allowed to punish you for raising an issue just because they disagree.
No the grievance is not related but made at the time of disciplinary as it happened a few days before

If I remember rightly, you've posted quite a lot of threads about investigations, reports, disciplinaries, how you can get your manager into trouble etc.

It sounds like the environment is not productive for you or your employer, so I think you should leave as soon as is practica .
Don’t want to get anyone in trouble I’m just wanting to cover my back. I been working for years but this is all new to me.
Getting people’s views that can help now and in the future.

was planning on relocating middle of next year so I need to hold on to this job a little longer. but then covid so I not sure now.
