As title says, would love to know how people mount there go-pro cameras. For a helmet i find the adhesive mounts are best with no extension.

The pic was with the extension, did 1 test and didnt like it so i just clamped the camera straight to the mount! Seems fine in the video :)

Also do the suction mounts work well on uneven surfaces?

I will also be mounting my go-pro on my kart some how, will post pics there. Might use a chest mounting harness as it would give a better view :)

It all really depends on the Sport and which GoPro mode you use which defines what tends to look best.

I seem to remember the GoPro forums were quite good for finding information about what worked best.

Never realised there were more GoProers here! I have only used mine once so far. I posted the video in the other thread, video below.

So far I have only used it on top of my helmet and the chest mount.

When I was using the chest mount (from about 4:00 in the video) it give a cool feeling like you're there but you see too much handlebars and not enough of what's going on. I think mine was pointed a bit low though.

When you're using the Helmet mount I think the view is too high up and it takes away the feeling of speed. I have seen some people mount to the side of their helmet which I might try.

Tomorrow I am going to try mounting the camera backwards on my mudguard to get some shots of people behind me.
I am also considering buying an EgoMount to get some shots of rider + bike

I use the suction, but now I've a bike with no fairing my options are limited. I may have to use the clamp. I haven't yet used it for the helmet though.

Oh, and to prove there's more to life on GoPros than just bikes and extreme sports, check out my Rabbit cam from Centerparcs this summer!

Got some great video down the rapids with my son - the water proof case works an absolute treat. I'd rather not post them publicly, but there are some stills so you can see what it was like :)

Once the light drops though, the camera is terrible for still photography.

This is how I mount mine:

I also mounted it on the back mudguard today and it fell off! Bricks were **** before finding it but it made for a funny video!

Loving the footage that has been shared! i will be making a mount on my kart so i can use a suction cup mount. Hopefully i will capture a full endurance race :).

Im quite interested in the chest harness, but at £34...can you adjust the height of where it sits or are you stuck at the same height when you adjust it to suit your body?

also off topic, can you recommend be a 16gb SD card? im using a 8gb. Which seems fine, as a video on R2 (1280x720) will run out of battery before it uses 8gb. I would like the comfort of knowning if i forget to backup/delete stuff on my card i can still record.

Made this timelapse, our fishtank is newly built. We have some neons just to see if they will live :) shot with standard time lapse settings.

ARgh im in a situation :( my race that is coming up is 2.5 hours long. battery life is 2.2hours (tried this morning) and my 8gb SD card runs out just minutes before the battery dies!

Iv got a few 16gb class 8 cards and i dont really want to spend money on a 2nd battery :( anyone know how to increase the battery life?

You only need a class 4 card for the GoPro, anything more doesn't make any difference.

My best suggestion would be to finish your race in 2.2 hours, then you won't run out of battery. Simple.

Stop being a tight arse and get a 2nd battery. Seen them go for cheap(£14) on the auction site.
Will getting one myself.

Did not manage to take a photo of it while it was on the car but just behind the rear 1/4 window with the suction mount
