How does it make feel apple owners fee, knowing the shockingling bad conditons those products are ma

As much as I hate to say it and as much as I feel people should work in good working conditions. No, I'm not concerned, not because I have Apple many products, it's because if I did, I would be a hyprocrite.

I would either have to start looking at all aspects of my purchases. Jeans, t-shirts, ties, socks, coffee beans, toilet paper, trainers, crisps, breakfast cereal, watch, television, bluray player, headphones, car, tyres, matches, kitchen knife, sharpening stone.....

Where does it stop?

Or do I stop at Apple? Because it is fashionable to do so?

Have to agree with Raymond. If we all looked at just the electronics in our homes and their production history we would probably find they all contained components from factories with questionable employee rights.

I wonder why you only bring up Apple and not all the other companies that sell electrical items and clothes which are produced in the Far East in similar conditions. Is it because you’re just trying to be trendy because it’s the in thing to do man?

Not exactly new news is it that things are made in these places under conditions which we would not find acceptable if the factories were operated over here.

What the people like to the OP don't seem to understand is that these countries have their own standards for health and safety etc, we might not like or agree with them but they are considered fine and legal there. If Foxconn tried to follow the same standards etc which a factory operating in the US or UK has to follow it would put up their costs which means they would probably not be competitive in their market and hence all those people would probably be laid off and be even worse off.

Do I like that electronics in things I own (not just Apple as has been said above) are made in such places? .... no. Do I lose sleep over it? .... no

I am just pointing facts. APples clean white apple image has been forever stained in blood.

If people think it is bad in China now, be safe in the knowledge it was much worse for children in Britain during the industrial revolution.

Just a quick web search reveals

"Foxconn is primarily an original design manufacturer, and its clients include major American, European and Japanese electronics and information technology companies. Notable products which the company manufactures include the iPad,[5] iPhone,[6] iPod,[6] Kindle,[7] PlayStation 3,[8] and Xbox 360.[9]"

And if you go to their site ATi approves them. So not just Apple. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn

So they have no idea how authentic the diary is? And as it said in the article, many people resigned so it would seem that other options are available and it is not slave labour, just a crap job in a country without very much in the way of employment protections.....next time people start whinging about Unions in this country, just remember why they started in the first place.

Old news big deal. They aren't the 1st and they won't be the last company that do this. It's sad, yes, and appalling. However, most of the stuff we buy that are mass produced will have at some point probably gone through a horrid labour cycle at some point.

Summed it up far better than I did. Well said.

After reading the OP I threw my iPhone out the window never to be used again. I feel so bad for using one for so many years, will I ever be forgiven?
