Is it bad that I lolled at this?
It's a reference to closing HTML tags.
<a></a>
<img></img>
etc etc.
For example - /thread is the absolute end of the thread (Close the thread tag and no more thread content can exist) and is used after an irrefutable point that either ends the discussion or insinuates any further discussion is no longer required.
It works better with some things rather than others.
/sarcasm is a good use (indicating the previous speech was indeed sarcasm) as is /care on it's own with nothing else (care has ended, none was given)
