I have a driveway that could do with repointing the seams up.
Should I scoop it clear and hose it a bit first?
Cement mixing seems a bit like making dough.
Do not overdo the water and you can always add a little more.
Builders bucket mix it up and use a pointer to press it in. Get a good dry day. Jobs done?
I have other jobs doing I would probably get some guys in for. But for the sake of pointing a driveway surely is decent for amateur hour?

Simple enough, but fixing cracks can be difficult as the thin bit you put down tends to breakup quite easily. Could be worth looking up some flexible mortar or something.

Cement paste on its own is not strong. You need a binder such as sand and if the gaps to be pointed are narrow, less than 5mm, a plasticiser would be useful as well.
Up to five parts dry sand to one part cement, mixed with water and additives to provide a smooth workable paste. Ready mixed products are available from screwfix and other places
