How easy is it to build a pc for a complete novice ?

The gigabyte mobo is the sensible option really. It's on offer so is priced very close to the Asrock.

The GB mobo has been priced at £120ish recently, at that price the Asrock is a more attractive option (it's always been £100ish). You are new here but you'll quickly see that the weekly offers can affect how we balance a build

One thing i forgot to ask its regarding wi-fi, i'm cluelesss in this area, after watching the video review of the Asrock motherboard i'll probably be going down that route. Will i need a wi fi dongle of some kind, a built in wi fi card or does the motherboard already have it built in ?

tamzzy, what do you recommend, we've got a very good broadband line speed over wi fi so i'd like to make the best possible use of that.

I'll be pulling the trigger tomorow on all the hardware for my build, still not decided on a case 100% as yet as that Zalman cae even though its a great case for the money it doesn't have USB 3 on the front which i'd like.

i couldnt tell ya tbh, i prefer using wired connections as it gives a more stable and faster throughput compared to wireless

That would be great, i'd only need 2 optical drives so that panel would be ideal.

With the motherboard i want to get the best i can, i'm still not 100% decided yet as i lack knowledge in this area, its one of them i want to make the right choice first time round rather than have any regrets later.

I'm still open to suggestions on that, i'll go with the Z9 case now that i know i can have USB 3 on the front.

While i'm here as well, can you link us to some extension cables that i may need for the build and any other bits etc. I'll be going for the power supply that honosuseri suggested

You can add the USB3 ports by installing a carder reader to the 3.5 inch bay at the front. Which works as a double upgrade then ;)

The Z9 comes with lots of kit, it includes an extension for the P4/8 pin aux mobo power, arguably the only one that is needed. I own one so I should know lol I am happy to recommend it, although it's a lil quirky and needs some alterations during the build to get the most from the case. There are plenty of build threads with Z9s to help you through the build, or just ask for help.

An internal wifi card is technically better than a USB dongle.

That's the alternative I linked to earlier buddy ;)

Yes it's good :)

So you did lol, can't decide between that and the Asrock, with not being an expert in this area its not easy to decide.

Is one more future proof than the other, overall which is the better ?

I'll be pulling the trigger on monday and ordering everything.

Gigabyte has a longer/better warranty but it is a lil more. Most would argue it's worth the extra at that price.

i just completed my build on friday using the Z77X-D3H. very easy to install :)

only thing is im having problems finding the internet but im sure it is just down to updating the drivers.

honosuseri

On the Zalman Z9 door, the mesh holes look big, does dust get in easy as it looks like it could from the size of the mesh holes ?

Also while i'm here just a couple of quick things, that internal wi fi card you posted above doesn't get good reviews on the customer feedback tab, would it be safer to go with the dongle or a better wi fi card if they have one on here.

MEMORY: Because i'm going with a Gigabyte board that has blue in it, would these Corasair Vengeance be suitable for the Gigabyte motherboard above which i'm going to use ? Do you rate them as memory ?
