How good is the Gigabyte S3 compared to the DS3?

I'm looking at replacing a mate's mobo a c2d mobo and it appears that this could fit the bill. I've currently got a DS3 which I know reasonably well in the bios, so an S3 would be very similar which makes setting up a lot easier.
So, is the s3 versh worth getting or should I go for the DS3?
Cheers.:)

With the older DS3s that used the 945 chipset the only difference was the lack of solid state capacitors, this may have changed though.

AFAIK the main differences are lack of the solid state/ultra durable stuff, lack of a RAID controller and a couple of other minor differences.
