how good is your hearing?

Can hear them all, depends how far you turn up the speakers, at regular litening levels i can hear upto the 16, anything else i have to notch the volume up on the amp, in which case i can hear them all, even the last one, it does make a sound.

I cant hear 16.7, 17.7 and 22.4 but can hear all the others. During your lifetime you can damage your ears to an extent where you can only hear certain frequencies, low or high. So just because you cant hear 16.7 doesnt mean you cant hear 21.1. This was the case for me.

Thats just your ears ringing from listening to them with your amp turned up :p

no it doesnt. You're hearing background noise from the soundcard when its playing audio. there's absolutely zero content in that last file. open it with a wave editor and see for yourself;)

Its true, even amplifying it in the wave editor by 48db only creates static, no actual ring.

Same, anyone else find that C is the hardest one to hear, despite being able to hear all of them?

This is because the ear has a different frequency response to different frequencies. You may have damaged some cilia hairs in your cochlea that will be to blame for this if it is quite a big difference.

I can hear 21.1kHz, I had earing test every year till I was 16, when I was younger for high pitch noises, they are the exact same sounds I use to listen.

My earing is pretty bad aswell, only got back from Magaluf last week and my ears are still sore from the huge speakers in the clubs, they where super loud in BCM.

got to 12 and cudnt hear it

after reading your replys i though "oh **** im death"

went back and tired again.......i can hear upto 21.1 but cant hear 12. :S weird

I can hear all of them (except 22.4KHz), but they start sounding lower pitched after 18.8KHz.

Exactly what I was going to say, and to hear tones after 16.7KHz I had to turn the speaker up a lot.

16.7KHz was the highest I could hear without turning up my speakers, and I'm 33 years old.

People should atleast put their age in the post to see if it corolates, younger age = high hearing ability..

I am 31 and can clearly hear 21.1kHz

Here is proof that the 22.4kHz file contains no sound.

Where as the 21.1kHz file does have sound.

I can hear the 21.1kHz very clearly but hear nothing on the 22.4kHz feels kind of strange

Same here ;)

What I find even stranger is that it says "from around 17kHz upwards we get into the range that only the under 20's can hear!" I'm 46 btw, so that kinda blows that therory out of the water :D

I can hear up to the 17.7kHz, above that and i carnt hear anything. I am do belive that i may be deaf, (i am 17) because i went to a hearing specialist when i was like 11, and he said that i may have a problem with my hearing or its just that i carnt be bothered listening to what people say to me.
