reply to an email or make a phone call saying...

"Ill get back you." or "Ill speak to *who ever* and discuss the situation with them and get back to you as soon as possible."

Does it actually take regular people a least 3 days to do a simple task like that?

To be fair though, I tend to ignore a lot of emails if I simply can't be bothered to reply. And that depends on how irritating the sender is....

na, takes me about seven days to remember I was meant to do it, then about five minutes to actually make the email/ phonecall

I never put one on as I expected it to be one of there first emails to be read in the inbox if there was any others in there.

If a lack of response doesn't involve me immediately losing my job then it goes to the back of the queue. So about 7 days.

Generally I either deal with stuff straight away or I leave it for later and then totally forget. I've still never replied to a message an old school friend sent me over 2 years ago, I was busy when I read it and then forgot, by the time I remembered it was too late to bother

I usually tell people straight away whether they're I'm going to be busy or not and whether it's a good time to talk.

If they're the type of people who ignore it and start talking about the weather or what I'm upto then I'll wait for them to call/email me when I'm free.

then there's those borderline cases, where you try and blame a glitch in the system. Do that with txts sometimes

Finally got an email back.

It would seem that she has spent the last week and a bit seeking clarification regarding my potential options.

Seeing her at 4 so hopefully ill find out what is going to happen then.
