How late is too late for a night out

Even when I was 18 I hardly ever went out after 8. Ideally I'd leave house at 7, even if it was just to go to my mate's across the road and we'd stay at his till 11 before going out and coming home at 6am. After 8 I just could not be bothered to go out and that's still the case unless it's something really "special".

going to a nightclub? then no point arriving there before midnight as it's dead. arrive at around midnight and then leave for 3am.

going to the pub then anytime. could be as early as 12 noon or as late as 8pm.

I'm over thirty and spent 4 years doing nightshifts so the excitement of being up until the sun rises gets rather old. I honestly think the whole "we were out until 7am" is pretty childish and just an extension of a 6yr olds behaviour of not wanting to go to bed when you should :P You may as well hit the pub/drink early evening and make the most of your night. Have a fun night out without having to sleep all weekend. Once you work full time the weekend gets precious. Having to sleep off a hangover feels like a waste.

I heard like 1am was the hip time to head out so I like to shake it up a bit. Probably go out at 6am, maybe some drinks at this club you've never heard of and wouldn't be allowed into if you had, before some pre-pre drinks at Alfies. Then pre-drinks at 8am - we're probably in Zoom bar - for actual drinks at 11am in Berliner! where we'll have an appetiser which passes for dinner. Then on to a club (I like Cindy's Boufant right now) for post-drinks and cultural exchanges before post-post drinks - Smash bar is divine - and then to an after party for around 1pm.
Yup... Young people really are d1cks these days!

I've never been a fan of sitting round someones house until late and then heading into town, much prefer to be out early. The best days although rare now are the ones that begin around lunchtime and end with a dirty kebab in the early hours.

Would totally agree, would always rather go out early than someones house. the latest we was ever out was 8pm and sometimes we would be out as early as 5:30pm to 6pm if we wanted to start early rather than go to someones house.

in a way this was good as we helped the pubs with our long drinking sessions but not so good for the wallet! lol

What on earth are pre drinks?

Normally people sitting in a house pre drinking, somewhere warm and inside, can chill out, listen to music.

Buy a crate of beer or a bottle of spirits with a mixer, get partly drunk so you don't spend so much money when you go out.

Right, so just meeting up before going out, did not know it had a term. Most of the group I go drinking with all live at opposite ends of Gloucester so we just meet in... Gloucester. I'll have a few at home with my lodger before hopping on the bus.
