I have:

- Halifax cardcash account (visa electron)
- Halifax current account (visa debit)
- Nationwide flex account (visa debit)
- Nationwide cashbuilder account
- Nationwide credit card

Considering getting a Halifax credit card, and possibly even opening something with HSBC too.

The reason I ask is my friends only have one or two accounts max. Am I alone on the multiple accounts thing, or do most of you have them too?

I've just got one current account with a debit card, plus 1 credit card which I only carry for emergency use. Can't be doing with having my money all over the place.

Current account, savings account and joint account. One credit card that I rarely use. It's hard enough keeping track of just those few, I normally shut savings accounts that mature etc :(

A main current account, an account with another bank which I put money into occassionally. I keep it in case I ever have a problem with cards on my main account. I have a cash ISA and a credit card [only ever use this online and I repay by DD every month so no temptations to spend more than I have :p]

Current Account
Savings Account
ISA Account
Joint Current Account
Joint Savings Account
Joint Holiday Account
Credit Card
Petrol Credit Card

10+ I think, although half are left over from promotions etc that aren't in use any more.

One debit card, 3 credit cards, 1 store card, 2 savings accounts, 2 CTF's, 3 pensions, 2 mortgage accounts. Our house is like a big filing cabinet.

Barlcays Graduate & Barclays credit card here. Don't have a joint account, we can't be bothered with it. I have a Scottish Life pension too.

I don't see why people need many accounts? Once my credit card is paid up I will be opening a savings account.

Current Account
Euro Account
Credit card
and INg savings account.

I've just cancelled about 4 credit cards and reduced the limit on the one I have. I forgot that available credit effects your overall credit rating. Utilised or not.

1 current account
1 credit card
1 ISA account

Thats all ya need :)

I did have 2 credit cards but I paid that off a few months ago and cancelled it.

HSBC - Current (maestro debit)
HSBC - Joint (maestro debit)
HSBC - Savings
HSBC - Credit Card (Mastercard)
ING - Savings

Guessing you don't travel much :p

The main reason I have multiple accounts is in case I get in trouble and need the cash when I'm in SEA.

Same with me, I did a lot of seasonal work abroad in the past, multiple accounts and credit cards have got me out of trouble a few times.
