How many GDers are still into high-end PCs?

Honestly, I am way behind all the new technology. The last time I put together a high-end PC was in 2003. I had saved up enough to buy myself a Vapochill and managed to get my computer running at a respectable 3.2Ghz. That was then, now I am on a laptop that's less than half the speed of that rig, I have never put together a dual-core system, my last GFX was AGP and I don't even know the difference between DDR and DDR2 let alone owned the latter.

What about you? Have you grown out of spending silly money on your system? Got another expensive hobby (girlfriend?) to waster your hard earned quids on?

I just never expected to see such a big difference in both speed and capacity!

and the Tinnitus used to get worse when I was in close proximity of my Overclocked Athlon Thunderbird which was cooled with a FOP 38 IIRC.

I remember when I first got my Alpha PAL, overclocked and no more noise! :D

Oh and pyro DDR3 is out in ordinary Ram form now, it is no longer just the preserve of graphics cards so that is something else for you to learn about. :)

I just had a look at the wiki article, how much bandwidth?!
