Though i remember some people on here say they bought it for £17.99

There are several popular retailers who will do £35 RRP games for £17.99 on pre order - it's pretty much standard practice now.

Then up to £25 on release.

It's to encourage pre ordering.

This isn't a boast, i'm not particularly well off at all but £24.99 is very cheap for a massive budget brand new game with a really well - tuned PC conversion ?
It's only just a bit more than half the price of the XBox 360 and PS3 versions despite being better. I mean, if it was a shoddy by numbers port, i'd like to pay less but some people are just getting greedy. You have any idea how much it costs to make these games ?
I love all the steam weekend deals, retro/ indie games and random bargains, in fact they make up the majority of my game purchases but this sort of price is right in line for blockbuster PC new releases, historically.

If you pay more it doesn't make the publisher or developer any extra money, just the retailer........

That might be true, although I'd be surprised if the average purchase price didn't feed back in any way at all. My point was simply that a £25 price for a new release blockbuster game is neither unreasonable in comparison with other games and platforms or historically unusual for that type of release on the PC platform.

Free special offer code :) (had the code sitting here for almost 2 weeks so as soon as I could download/install it on the 18th I did :)) - Very good so far :!

Going to wait until closer to Christmas and nudge the missus into getting me it if it's cheap enough. My only other hope is a sale on Steam.

I don't think I've paid more than 20 quid for a game in years.
