how much do you tip for haircuts?

Does your hair cut look better after you've paid for it or something?

Well next time you go in they remember you as the person who doesn't tip so they dont bother as hard to give you a nice haircut. They want you out of the seat quicker for someone who appreciates their talents more.

Next you'll tell me you dont tip the pizza deliver person I suppose?

I cant beleive you people dont tip. You must have some awful haircuts.

my haircuts are 12 and I tip 3 to make it a nice round 15. Sometimes I tip 5 if I'm in a fanciful mood.

Why would we give extra money to someone who has done their job at a set price. Do you tip your supermarket cashier? Your postman? (although you are an ***** so very possibly yes)

TROLOLOLOL They delivered your pizza, unless they sit with you and **** you off while you eat it what exactly have they done to extra to their job description to earn your money?

Delivered you a pizza in a timely fashion, and in my case as a tipper, unladen with spittle.

So you think if you don't tip them they are supposed to spit on your pizza and be late (even though they have to be quick as possible to get back for the next order)? Presumably that mean the first time this guy delivers to you, he has already spat on your pizza as he doesn't know your a tipper yet?

You would have been banned a long time ago on neogaf matey.

If you're delivering a pizza to 4 regular customers on a trip, and you know from experience one of them doesn't tip, who is going to get the coldest pizza?

That's their job, I don't get a tip for turning up to work on time or being at a meeting 5mins earlier then staying late.

But you yanks have a tipping culture which is tourists need to adhere to. i remember my other half forgetting (honestly) to tip in a nice LA bar, she didn't get served again, the silly Wenchita! :p:D

My hair cut costs me £3.50 :p . I tip nothing.

I used to deliver Pizza [yay], you work out the route on using less fuel. Regardless of tips. And food is kept hot in the car anyway.

But that's their job. Pizza delivery services in the UK cost a lot of money because the overheads and services involved in delivery are factored into the initial price.

You are tipping your service workers as if you are in America, and as if they are paid sub-standard wages that must be made up in tip-money. They're not. They are reimbursed for the service rendered in the first place. I don't pay £35 for a haircut so that I can give the guy a 15% tip just for doing the job I paid him to do. I don't give my Dominoes delivery guy an extra fiver when the rotten little disc already cost me £20 for the delivery. You are throwing your money away. And if he gave me a cold pizza as a result... well I'd consult company policy and not pay him anything, anyway. Cold pizza = no money.

£6 no tip.
I don't think anyone tips him....

The first time I went in there for a cut my hair was long and I wanted it short he charged me £8 and I told him to keep the change from £10 but I pretty much had to force him to take the tip.

It's obvious he doesnt expect tips and doesnt really want them...

He does a really good job , hes proud of his work and the only tip he needs is seeing a satisfied customer who appreciates the level of surface thats been provided

Going off on a tangent, how many of you tip taxi drivers? I do, but afterwards always think 'why did I do that!'
In London, its not as if I will ever see them again.

I've never tipped a hairdresser before... When I heard people do, I thought it would be pretty awkward, considering I already planned on paying for the haircut in the first place :p
