How much is a used K750i worth? : Are they any good?

Mate at work has just upgraded his phone and his Sony K750i is for sale.

How much are these worth second hand in excellent condition?. Its unlocked.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on how these phones perform?.

I would be looking to stick my Orange PAYG sim card in there if I bought it.

I currently have a Razr V3, how does the 750i compare to that?. I know the camera is a 2megapixel compared to the V3's VGA?.

P.S. To the dons, was going to put this in the "Price Check" section, but thought I would get more info in this section from these knowledgeable mobile phone chaps!!!. Hope thats ok!!.

Cracking phone, get yourself a datacable, and you can usually upgrade it to a 800i for about a fiver using a websever thingy.

Mate has offered it to me for £30. Only thing is he is not sure if its locked to Vodafone or not. He's going to have a look and let me know if he can find out.

Cant see that being a problem though?. I can have it "unlocked" easily enough, is that right?.

If you've got the cable you can do it yourself, or about 10-15 quid at a phone shop.

Have a fiddle with the joystick first, these have a tendency to die anywhere from 6 months to a year from new.

To see if it's locked, go to the service menu by pressing:

>*<<*<*

then go to Service Info, then Sim Lock. If all five items have a '5' next to them, then it's unlocked.

I have a W800i K750i`s are just a none walkman variety of it best phone I have owned.

Regarding joysticks was in o2 the other day and was talking to one of the staff they were saying the joysticks were revised on later models and new ones are less prone to failiure.

Mate is bringing it in to work tonight for me to take a look at.

Will check the joystick works and see if its unlocked then.

mmm.... my K800i has already had a couple of 'off' days as a nice way of putting it, so I don't believe that for a minute.

yep thats very true indeed the joysticks from sony erricsson can prove to be a pain in the ass from time to time , just a little tip as well regarding the joystick , it will keep a lot better if you use a little water paint brush to clean around it from time to time or you could use a air duster (areosol) that helps a lot on keeping the joystick in tip top.
the k750i is a ver good phone aswell and yes like the comments above the firmware on the handset can be updated to a w800i ( walkman) .

lets be fair , as long as its in good condition you having a good buy there 30 bucks aint bad at all for a good phone,

To get an idea of how much you could sell it hassle free (i.e. not arsing about on ebay), look at envirofone.com

They'll take your old phone, and pay you for it. They send you a jiffy bag, you just need to register, and put it in the prepaid envelope you get sent. No doubt you can get more from ebay, but this is eeezzzeee.

I got about £36 from my K750i 2/3 months ago (better than nothing)
