First thing that stands out is that I was unaware there was a 'BMW Motorsports Pack' which included the MV alloys on an SE.

It does strike me as being rather at the top end of the price range at £9750 - it should be less as a private sale.

Thanks for your reply Fox.

Heres a link to a pic: image

The car itself is very nice, inside is lovely. Really well looked after leather interior.

Is 70,000 miles an issue? Is the price really too high then, what should I be aiming for?

Thanks again

I would want to pay £8-8.5k for that car, perhaps £9k if its truely absolutely immaculate with impeccable service history.

Mileage is not neccesarily a problem but make sure you tuck a grand away somewhere incase the turbo fails becuase the 320d's are prone to it.

OK. Theres not much else here around with the same spec for a similar price. I've been to a few today and none have been in similar condition.

One thing that did bother me was the rear panel had definitely been resprayed, but the guy (i think he was lying) said he knew nothing about it. It wasn't a decent respray and was quite obvious, but he denied all knowledge.

I might try and push him for £8.5k, see what happens. Tax and Mot are both due in December and its got 4,000 until the next service. It's got a fully documented service history, all with the same dealer the car was brought from.

Thanks

What makes you think it's been resprayed?

If it was done properly it's of no concern, but the fact he claims to know nothing about is concerning, or means it was done by the previous owner. Now, if he's had it 4 years, the previous owner bought it new and only kept it a year. Any repair work will have almost certainly been done by the BMW Main Dealer and should therefore have a certificate of repair from the dealer.

He said it he brought it 6 months from new at a BMW dealer in Northampton where it was used as a car internally.

Its suspect. Its definitely badly done, I've done a fair bit of spraying and so has my old man and you could clearly see where the new paint oversprayed onto the old. He denied all knowledge. I may ring him and query him about the documentation.

If I could snap it up for £8.5k, maybe even £8,750 I'd be happy. What he's asking at the moment is I feel too high. Four new tyres have just been put on and everything did seem very well looked after in fairness. Is there any other points I should be aware of?

Oh, he said the rear coils had just been replaced.

Entirely up to you whether its desirable. It was 6 months 4 years ago, but thats almost certainly what the internal use was for :)

Will find out. He said he had some paperwork regarding its original use, so will be interesting to see. I also asked why he had no documentation regarding the respray at the back, he said he's going to check through all his doc's and call me in the morning as maybe he overlooked something and then said he was shocked at how good my eyes were to notice it. Suspect I think.

Will offer him £8.5k tommorow and see what he says.

Thanks for all the feedback.

To dig up and old thread, this is still ongoing :p

He will settle for £8,800 but I'm still not sure. Might ask him for £8,750 or £8,800 + an MOT
