Heey guys,

Just a quick question, I was thinking buying another 5850 and go crossfire,

I player a lot of crysis and soon ile be playing Bad company 2, I run everything on very high with 4xAA at 22" res and i get 35fps outside 65fps inside, 25fps while fighting 45fps inside fighting, If i get another 5850 how much more would it actually add? another 15fps? or more? money is not a issue due to selling my motorbike thats been sitting outside for months and that will cover it....

Thanks Stefan :)

And soon ile be upgrading to 24" monitor so it would help i guess :)

Do it, the scaling I have seen in benchmarks on utube and the web is very good, so much so I may consider getting another 5870 if fermi is not up to much.

you'll get a 50% boost roughly.

Thing is you'll be buying another 5850 only for 1 game. All other games run much smoother at the resolution you're playing.

It'd be better to get a higher resolution monitor instead.

Thanks guys but i think iam gunna get the 5850 before i get a 24" so i wont be throttled down with the res with 1 card :)

Thanks for the replieys :)

Stefan

The actual performance scaling will depend on the CPU your using, the resolution and settings and then of course game to game... a single 5850 is already a fairly powerful card so don't expect to see miracles at 1680x type resolutions and even at 1920x you'll prolly only see 50-60% scaling on average... you'll prolly have to be pushing 2560x to really see the full benefit.

Yeah ... the games tested show the differences between ATI & Nvidia for scaling and absolute performance so worth studying closely.
