I live in a shared apartment, after tax I spend 15.5% of my monthly wage on flat rent. But I have 13 months of pay a year, so that is more like 14.3%. Of my untaxed 13 months of pay, this is 11.5%


This rent includes some electricity and all heating an hot water. There is no council tax charges (as this i in the income tax).

When I was living in work provided accomodation it was 21%, but that included everything + a cleaner. (Also, up to 4 house mates. )

I live in Oxford, it's 450 a month for a single room with a shared bathroom.

The average house costs 450k here, I can't ever see me owning one.
