Check the front of your gas meter - it should have either "ft3" or "m3" on it. If it's m3 and the supplier think it's ft3, then that would explain the kWh conversions from your energy supplier - and your supplier will need to correct your readings and bills accordingly.

You need to check the what the meter says like he said. If they think the meter is cubic feet (ft3) but it is really cubic meter (m3) then the maths will be wrong.

The numbers I have given in the OP are correct and are the numbers that I have given the company - I just can't believe it would cost that much! I'm hoping they have made a mistake somewhere.

Approximate figures, using my own spreadsheet that I use.

Gas: £237.56 (5445 kWh used over 201 days)
Electricity: £242.78 (2502 kWh used over 201 days)

I pay about 3 x more for Gas per month than i do for my elec. Thats aprox £3 per day for gas and £1 for elec that i use. You must be quite a light gas user where as your electricity is comparable to mine.

If you definitely have an imperial meter (measures in ft3) and your bill is showing metric (m3), then your energy company need to be informed ASAP. They are possibly overcharging you by about x2.83.

You may also be due a refund, if they have been overcharging you in the past.

Get on the phone to them tomorrow, take photos of the meters and offer to email them copies of the photos, or invite them to come and inspect the meters for themselves. Before phoning them, I would get any bills from them, or any other supplier, to see how they have been billing you too.
