How much to ask for use of my photo???

I know, its not really the money i was bothered about, just not having them feeling they can use me and get what ever they like from me!

Damn thats unlucky dude. Its annoying that there are companies out there that think this is perfectly ok. Screw 'em :)

Yeah, money would have been a bonus, but I saw it as more of an honour that they wanted to pay for your photo. If they just want to have it they can go jump!

The lottery numbers will be 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.

Back in the bay...at some point! Have a job working as admin (I finally quit the odeon!) and that is taking up monday to friday, and have a trip to Dublin next weekend! Woohoo! But I definitely want to come back to the bay, we need to go for a ride!

Does admin=tea boy??? Well i'm away for the rest of June, off to Germany for a bit! Will have to sort something out for the summer though.

Nice shot, I can see how it would work well in a brochure.

**** em' though - cheeky sods.

Here's what I'm curious about - how did they see the shot in the first place?

I let them hang the picture in the school for free (its my place of work). We had a visit from one of the head office guys over in germany and he loved it. As they were doing the brochure he said to my boss that he wanted a copy to use because they didnt like any of the ones submitted by so called professionals.... Not sure who they hired if they couldnt get an image round here.

I'l play those "Random" numbers. But if next week I get stuck on an island in the middle of nowhere! no one touch my stuff till I get back!

Shame yak.h'cir but I think you did the right thing by saying no. You never know, they may come crawling back to you when they realise they can't get as good shots for anywhere near that money. Good luck mate :)

If they do come back, I would suggest that being VERY careful, and clear, about EXACTLY what rights they are buying is critical. Make it clear, in writing (signed by them) that the fee is for this use and this use ONLY. Otherwise, if they claim they bought all rights, they could end up using it all over the place. They could even end up denying you the right to use your own picture.

This is, perhaps, more important than what they decide to pay (if they do).
