Hi, my brother has just bought a little Rover 25 1.4IL. It has a few dents and scrapes on one side which he'd like to get fixed up because apart from these the car is practically as new. It's only done 19k miles and he's planning on keeping it for a few years.

As you can see in the photo there is a little dent on the front wheel arch and the bottom of the rear door is a little dented. As well as these the wing mirror on that side is also scraped as is the black bumper strip on the front bumper. How much do you think it would cost to get these all repaired in a body shop? He's also considering getting the black strips, door handles and spoiler sprayed at the same time. The wheels will also be replaced with a nice set of alloys once the tyres need replacing.

He really just wants a rough estimate.

Thanks

Matt

i guess the price of repairing the dents will depend if the paint has been damaged or not... if not they may be able to tap them out.

i had a few bits sorted out a couple of years ago on my 106 (which is long gone now), and i had everything colour coded, looked much better afterwards.

i wouldnt recommend chipsaway as they seem to be a bit hit and miss. they did a great job on the alloys on my 206 (again, long gone!) but the bodywork looked better before they had worked on it!

probably best to just go and get a quote... depending on where your located someone might be able to give recommendations of places to go. otherwise perhaps get in touch with a local owners club and see if they can recommend anyone.

The paint on the wheel arch and back door is not damaged at all, just dented. The bumper strip on the front is quite heavily scratched but I think they can be bought on ebay quite cheep. The mirror again is very scratched and possibly too deep to repair. It might be better if he just gets a new mirror and resprays it.
