How much to give as a wedding gift?

A good friend is getting married and there is no gift list. Having spoken to him i'm going to give cash.

But how much? I know this is one of those 'How much can you afford and how good a friend is he' times but what is a general sensible amount?

£250? £500?

What would be you acceptable amount if a friend were getting married.

Its hard to say, how many people are coming to the wedding?

If he is a close friend I would say 100 to 250.

All these types of threads have the same answer. Give what YOU can afford and feel comfortable with as friendship can not be measured by money and money can not be defined without circumstance.

Money is great and all but there no thought in it!

Think £250.00 a lot if money you could get a great gift with that kind of money
